René Egli e Fuerteventura: la storia

Ecco come i singoli viaggi intrapresi per praticare il windsurf e il kitesurf si sono trasformati da viaggio individuale a una vacanza sportiva completa

Nel 1984, dopo avere scoperto le condizioni di vento così particolari di Playa Sotavento, avviò quella che divenne la sua impresa. La nostra storia racconta in che modo, dalle iniziali 8 tavole e 30 vele, si è sviluppata la scuola di windsurf e kitesurf oggi più grande al mondo, che ospita oltre 25.000 sportivi ogni anno:

1984

René arriva a Fuerteventura: vengono acquisiti i diritti d’esclusiva per il windsurf dell’Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura.

Il magazzino del materiale e l’ufficio si trovano, dal mese di maggio, nel miniclub dell’Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura.

Il primo anno circa 150 ospiti si avvalgono dei servizi di windsurf di René Egli.

1985

Primo prospetto (produzione propria – tiratura 100 pz.)

René mette a segno la prima collaborazione con importanti organizzazioni turistiche (Neckermann, Sun&Fun), soluzione che consente di prenotare comodamente una vacanza dedicata al windsurf completa.

Grazie alla presenza attiva a diverse manifestazioni fieristiche, René riesce a consolidare il principio della vacanza dedicata al windsurf a tutto tondo: la domanda aumenta costantemente.

1986

René organizza e partecipa al primo campionato del mondo di velocità con il windsurf PBA sull’isola di Fuerteventura.

Pascal Maka realizza, con la velocità di 38,86 nodi, un nuovo record del mondo; l’evento contribuisce a incrementare in misura significativa la fama di Fuerteventura.

Fondazione del marchio stilistico Fuerte Action e, di conseguenza, ulteriore valore aggiunto per l’offerta nel suo complesso.

1987

Ufficio, magazzino, shop e reception dell’attività vengono trasferiti nell’Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura su una superficie di 640 mq.

Nasce il René Egli Center.

Prima navetta gratuita con destinazione Costa Calma.

1988

The windsurfing material is now transported to the beach using trailers and the first installations similar to a centre are constructed at the beach.

1989

René opens Center I.

The windsurfing sails remain rigged up at the beach store - the boards are transferred daily at the beach.

1991

The windsurfing center gains shaded and wind-shielded relax-areas, a beach bar and sanitary facilities, making it significantly more convenient for the growing number of guests.

Launch of the Fuerte Action Bar, completing the holistic concept combining sport + fashion at a scene meeting place.

René and Angelika Egli have been ever since a strong pair in all aspects.

rene-egli.com has its own webcam installed on the roof of Hotel Gorriones.

2001

René organises the first Kite World Cup in Fuerteventura, one of the first of its kind in the world.

Sebastien Cattelan achieves a new hang time world record of 8.87 sec

2007

René receives the "Bronze" medal for his outstanding achievements benefitting the general public interest of Fuerteventura.

2008

The René Egli Signature collection with wind & kite-surfing motifs expands the offer of the Fuerte Action brand as an independent range.

René opens the Beach-House, which unites Information & Reservation, a shop and a café with a unique atmosphere under one roof.

2012

Together with the beach licences, René purchases by auction the exclusive right to teach in the lagoon.

2013

Il Buggy Vela viene proposto come offerta supplementare (ripetuto dal 2002)

25.000 praticanti di windsurf e kitesurf hanno prenotato presso René Egli.

La homepage di rene-egli.com nel 2013 viene raggiunta in media da 15.000 visitatori al giorno.

René inaugura il nuovo Kite Center by Meliã nel giardino di palme dell’Hotel Meliã Gorriones.

René Egli e Mystic avviano una collaborazione di successo.

2014

René inaugura il nuovo Windsurf Center by Meliã.

Il catalogo 2014 ha una tiratura di 100.000 esemplari.

2015

René ha organizzato per 30 anni consecutivi il Windsurfing & Kiteboarding World Cup di Fuerteventura e ha ricevuto un trofeo speciale in suo onore
