De cómo los viajes individuales para practicar windsurf y kitesurf pasaron a convertirse en unas completas vacaciones dedicadas al deporte

A partir de 1984, tras descubrir las extraordinarias condiciones del viento en la playa de Sotavento, empezó a levantar su empresa. En nuestra Historia como podéis leer, de las 8 tablas y 30 velas iniciales, ha llegado a convertirse en la mayor escuela de windsurf y kitesurf del mundo, con más de 25.000 clientes al año:

1984

Llegada de René a Fuerteventura: los derechos de exclusividad sobre el windsurf del Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura en el bolsillo.

El almacén y la oficina se encuentran desde mayo en el Mini Club del Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura.

Durante el primer año, unos 150 clientes solicitaron los servicios de windsurf de René Egli.

1985

Primer folleto (por cuenta propia – tirada de 100 unidades)

René consigue las primeras colaboraciones con grandes operadores turísticos (Neckermann, Sun&Fun), permitiendo así reservar cómodamente unas vacaciones dedicadas al windsurf.

La presencia activa en ferias permite a René seguir consolidando el principio de las vacaciones completamente centradas en el windsurf. La demanda aumenta de forma constante.

1986

René es organizador y participante de la primera PBA Windsurfing Speed Worldcup en Fuerteventura.

Pascal Maka establece un nuevo récord mundial con 38,86 nudos, lo que aumenta significativamente la fama de Fuerteventura

Creación de la marca de moda Fuerte Action, lo que implica una mejora de la oferta integral.

1987

Oficina, almacén, tienda y recepción propia se instalan en el Hotel Gorriones Fuerteventura, en una superficie de 640 m2.

Se crea el Centro René Egli.

Primer servicio de transporte gratuito a Costa Calma.

Oferta adicional de vuelos en parapente (hasta 1990)

1988

The windsurfing material is now transported to the beach using trailers and the first installations similar to a centre are constructed at the beach.

1989

René opens Center I.

The windsurfing sails remain rigged up at the beach store - the boards are transferred daily at the beach.

1991

The windsurfing center gains shaded and wind-shielded relax-areas, a beach bar and sanitary facilities, making it significantly more convenient for the growing number of guests.

rene-egli.com has its own webcam installed on the roof of Hotel Gorriones.

2001

René organises the first Kite World Cup in Fuerteventura, one of the first of its kind in the world.

Sebastien Cattelan achieves a new hang time world record of 8.87 sec

2007

René receives the "Bronze" medal for his outstanding achievements benefitting the general public interest of Fuerteventura.

2008

The René Egli Signature collection with wind & kite-surfing motifs expands the offer of the Fuerte Action brand as an independent range.

René opens the Beach-House, which unites Information & Reservation, a shop and a café with a unique atmosphere under one roof.

2012

Together with the beach licences, René purchases by auction the exclusive right to teach in the lagoon.

2013

25.000 windsurfistas y practicantes de kitesurf realizan una reserva con René Egli.

El sitio web rene-egli.com alcanza en 2013 una media de 15.000 visitas diarias.

René inaugura el nuevo Kite Center en Meliá, en el palmeral del Hotel Meliá Gorriones.

René Egli y Mystic empiezan una colaboración de auténtico éxito.

2014

René inaugura el nuevo Windsurf Center by Meliá.

El folleto de 2014 tiene una tirada de 100.000 ejemplares.

2015

René ha organizado durante 30 años consecutivos el campeonato mundial de Windsurfing y Kiteboarding de Fuerteventura y ha recibido un trofeo especial en su honor

René y Meliá Hotels Internacional avanzan juntos hacia el futuro
